Units und Islands
Units – Erarbeitung der Inhalte und Lernziele
«New World 1» beginnt mit einer Spezial-Unit, die den Kindern zeigt, wie viele englische Wörter und Ausdrücke sie bereits kennen. Jede der weiteren Units umfasst insgesamt 14 Seiten zur Erarbeitung der Inhalte und Lernziele. Die Units sind identisch aufgebaut und behandeln die sechs Kompetenzbereiche des Lehrplans 21, wobei das Sprachhandeln im Vordergrund steht.
Islands – Einschübe ohne neue Lernziele
Islands sind doppelseitige Einschübe ohne neue Lernziele. Das Coursebook enthält jeweils vier Islands. Damit lassen sich alltägliche Themen und Wortschatz spielerisch aufnehmen und der Schwerpunkt kann auf «Kulturen im Fokus» gelegt werden.
